Approved Motor Finance has completed one of its most significant specialist vehicle transactions to date, arranging a bespoke £2 million finance facility to support a private collector with the acquisition of an exceptionally rare 1990s Formula One car.

Representing an important piece of motorsport history, the vehicle is an incredibly scarce collector's asset with significant heritage and provenance.

Due to the rarity of the vehicle and the importance of maintaining complete discretion for our client, further identifying details will remain confidential.

Financing More Than Just a Vehicle

Financing a vehicle of this calibre requires a very different approach from a conventional car finance transaction.

Collector-grade vehicles can represent significant assets in their own right, with values influenced by factors including rarity, provenance, historical significance, specification and desirability among collectors.

With a £2 million funding requirement, it was therefore essential that the finance structure reflected both the significance of the asset and the individual requirements of our client.

Our Partnerships Director, Matthew Martin, led the transaction, working closely with Motor Credit Partner, Rosie-Kay NewburyHead of Motor, Krish Appiah, and the wider Approved Motor Finance team to bring the facility together.

Through close collaboration between the client, our team and the lender, a bespoke £2 million finance facility was successfully arranged to support the

acquisition.

A Specialist Approach to Collector Car Finance

While Approved Motor Finance regularly arranges funding for prestige, performance and supercars, transactions involving exceptionally rare classic and collector vehicles can require an even more specialist approach.

Rather than relying solely on conventional vehicle finance options, our team can approach specialist lenders and work to structure funding around the vehicle, its value and the client's individual circumstances.

It is an approach that becomes increasingly important when dealing with significant automotive assets where traditional lending criteria may not adequately reflect the rarity or desirability of the vehicle.

Matthew Martin, Partnerships Director at Approved Motor Finance, commented:

"Opportunities to work on vehicles of this significance don't come around very often. From the outset, we knew this required a highly bespoke approach, both because of the value involved and the exceptional nature of the asset.

It was a fantastic transaction to work on and a great example of what can be achieved when you combine specialist knowledge with strong lender relationships.

Most importantly, we were able to deliver a finance structure that worked for our client while maintaining the level of discretion that a transaction like this demands."

Strong Relationships Behind a £2 Million Facility

A transaction of this scale is also a strong example of the importance of relationships within specialist motor finance.

Approved Motor Finance worked closely with Metro Bank throughout the process, with Wendy Simmons, Business Development Director, playing an important role in working alongside our team to secure the facility.

The collaboration between all parties helped deliver a funding solution appropriate for an extremely unusual and high-value acquisition.

Rory Dunn, Managing Director at Approved Finance Group, commented:

"This is an exceptional result for our Motor Finance team and demonstrates how far our specialist vehicle proposition has developed. Arranging a £2 million facility for an asset with this level of rarity and heritage requires expertise, trust and strong relationships across the market.

We're incredibly proud of Matthew, Rosie-Kay, Krish and everyone involved in bringing the transaction together, as well as the support we received from Wendy and the team at Metro Bank. It's exactly the type of complex, specialist transaction that demonstrates the value an experienced broker can bring."

Specialist Finance for Exceptional Vehicles

From modern supercars and prestige vehicles to classics and highly collectable automotive assets, Approved Motor Finance specialises in arranging tailored finance solutions for clients across the specialist vehicle market.

Our funding solutions include Hire Purchase, PCP, Lease Purchase, Refinance and Equity Release, with facilities available from £25,000 up to £10 million.

For collectors in particular, access to specialist finance can provide an alternative to deploying significant amounts of capital into a vehicle outright, while a tailored structure can be built around the individual acquisition and client's wider requirements.

For this particular client, it meant securing the funding required to acquire an exceptionally rare piece of motorsport history.

£2,000,000 financed. One extraordinary collector's asset.
