Approved Motor Finance has completed another high-value prestige vehicle deal, arranging £160,000 in funding for a Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology.

Few vehicles are as instantly recognisable as the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Its distinctive box-shaped design and commanding road presence have helped make the G-Wagon one of the world’s most desirable luxury SUVs.

The G 580 with EQ Technology takes that familiar formula in a new direction as the first fully electric production G-Class.

An automotive icon enters the electric era

Although the powertrain has changed, Mercedes-Benz has retained many of the characteristics that have defined the G-Class for decades.

The G 580 features four individually controlled electric motors, one positioned near each wheel—which together produce 587 hp and 1,164 Nm of torque. This allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0–62 mph in approximately 4.7 seconds, despite its size and substantial off-road engineering.

Its 116 kWh usable battery provides a quoted WLTP range of up to 473 kilometres, or approximately 294 miles, depending on vehicle specification and driving conditions.

One of its most distinctive features is G-TURN, which allows the vehicle to rotate almost on the spot when used on suitable loose surfaces. It also offers G-STEERING to help reduce its turning circle when driving off-road.

Combined with its luxurious interior, imposing exterior design and advanced electric technology, the G 580 offers a very different interpretation of the traditional G-Wagon.
