The brand-new Porsche Cayenne Electric has landed, and it’s nothing short of thrilling. This luxury SUV isn’t playing in the family-crossover league; it’s landing in super-car territory.

Straight out of the gate, the Cayenne Electric delivers up to 1,156 hp (≈1,156 PS) in its top-turbo guise, making it the most powerful production Porsche ever made. With that kind of output, 0-62 mph takes just 2.5 seconds and the 0-124 mph time clocks in at about 7.4 seconds, with a top speed of around 162 mph.

Power isn’t everything though. it also has serious range and charging credentials. The Cayenne Electric uses a newly developed ~113 kWh battery and an 800-volt architecture, meaning you can go from 10% to 80% in under 16 minutes at suitable public chargers.

Inside, Porsche has really pulled out the stops: the Cayenne Electric features a sweeping “Flow Display”, a curved screen combined with a digital cluster and optional passenger display, making it the largest array of screens in a Porsche to date. To balance all of that, they’ve retained physical buttons for key functions (audio, HVAC) to keep things intuitive.

From an aesthetic standpoint the design is sleeker, more aerodynamically refined, for example, the drag coefficient is quoted at 0.25 for the EV version, which is excellent for a vehicle of this size.

Unique Wireless Charging Capability

Here’s a standout feature worth calling out: the Cayenne Electric is the first Porsche to optionally support inductive (wireless) charging, in plain English: you simply park the car above a floor pad and the charging starts automatically.

The system transfers up to 11 kW wirelessly, with an efficiency over 90 % despite a 12-18 cm gap between the pad and the vehicle’s receiver unit. Positioning is made easy: the car uses sensors and the display to guide you over the floor pad, meaning you don’t need to plug in anything, just park and go.

In short: for home charging, it’s as easy as parking your car, stepping inside your house, and forgetting about wires. It’s convenience built for luxury-EV ownership.

The top‐tier “Turbo” version begins at £130,900.
